This year’s theme is Krewe de Charles Bal Masque XXXIV Takes to the High Seas. The court raised over $35,000 for the school. The Carnival Ball at St. Charles Catholic High School is a tradition for the school and the entire community. As Jack Snowdy once stated, “The frivolity and glittering Carnival Balls and other carefree events of the Mardi Gras season are mere preludes to the reality of Lent and the preparation for the death and joyous resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Experiences at St. Charles Catholic High School are dedicated to the formation of the whole student in mind, body, and spirit. This Catholic school cultivates a strong community, joining parishioners, families, teachers, and neighbors behind the indispensable task of teaching children to draw from their God-given gifts and to share those treasures and traditions with others. The King is Cameron John Brady, son of Eugene and Jennifer Brady of LaPlace, with his Queen Mia Grace Oncale, daughter of Lee Oncale and Chrissy Oncale of Garyville. Both the King and Queen of the High Seas are active students at St. Charles Catholic High School. Cameron Brady is a member of the football, swim, and soccer teams and National Honor Society and Beta Club. He is a state qualifier in swim and was a member of the State Runner-up boys swim team this fall. Mia Oncale is a member of the swim and soccer teams. As a five-year member of the swim team, she was All-State in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events. She is also a member of the Retreat Team and National Honor Society. Mia continues a family tradition of royalty at SCC. Her aunt, Nikki Oncale, reigned as Queen of Krewe de Charles VI and her father, Lee, reigned as King of Krewe de Charles IX.Pages to their majesties are Dani Lynn Brady, daughter of James and Jennifer Brady and Anniston James and Greyson Thomas Cancienne, sons of Darren and Tricia Cancienne.Other members of the Royal Court are Duke Kason James Gilbert, son of Robert, Jr. and Kristen Gilbert, with Maid Jenna Brooke Bosco, daughter of Jeno and Stacey Bosco; Duke Ayden August Authement, son of Louis and Dana Authement, with Maid Camryn Lee Triche, daughter of Kenneth Paul and Lisa Triche; Duke Benjamin Paul Brignac, son of Kurt and Catherine Brignac, with Maid Sarah Elizabeth Sirmon, daughter of Will and Erin Sirmon; Duke Nathan Daniel Abadie, son of Byron and Heather Abadie, with Maid Shae Elizabeth Waguespack, daughter of Brock and Elyse Waguespack; Duke Ian Wayne Arnett, son of Willie and Kelly Arnett, with Maid Morgan Kate Nuccio, daughter of Chad and Edith Nuccio; and Duke Michael Stephen Hotard, son of Heath and Rachel Hotard, with Maid Bella Alise Marix, daughter of Michael and Angelle Marix.A full evening of revelry is planned to celebrate the royal court and live entertainment will be provided by a host of SCC students including the Stagehands, Starsteppers, and both the JV and Varsity Cheerleaders, along with a few numbers by Stagehands alumni.
