SCC's Krewe de Charles XXXIV

SCC Carnival Ball - Krewe de Charles 2023

This year's Carnival Ball took guests to the High Seas as the Krewe de Charles XXXIV took the floor on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this festive night of culture, arts, and community at SCC!

The evening began with prayer and pledge of allegiance, led by SCC Senior Alexis Monistere and SCC Alumnus, Maddie Millet. His majesty King Evan Roussel and her majesty Queen Riley Monica of Krewe de Charles XXXIII returned to the Carnival Ball in the first walk of the evening. The court processed one couple at a time, each costumed according to this year's theme "Takes to the High Seas". Finally, King Cameron Brady and Queen Mia Oncale completed their processions and joined the court at the Royal Stage. Then, the entertainment portion of the evening began.

SCC alumni Trey Lowry, Keri Clement, and Sadie Kelly performed for the court and their guests, followed by performances from current students. The Varsity cheerleaders, junior varsity cheerleaders, and the Starsteppers performed individual numbers meant to transport the audience to sea-themed getaways like pirate ships and ocean cruises. The SCC Stagehands treated the crowd to a number from SpongeBob:The Musicala fun show about the underwater world of Nickelodeon's SpongeBob.

After the entertainment, the court danced with loved ones before the evening gala. It was a lovely and long-awaited night for the SCC community. We're so excited to see this tradition return, and we look forward to many more balls to come!
