Football season is upon us once again. It is with a great deal of excitement that we begin another school year and the activities that we all enjoy so much. Perhaps some of the biggest highlights from each school year occur on those very special Friday evenings at Thomas J. Dupuy, Jr. Memorial Stadium/Frank Monica Field during the fall. For the Comets, there truly is no place like home!
This year’s football schedule includes five regular season home games and a jamboree. While having this number of home games is thrilling and convenient for our community, it does hold its own special challenges. Among these challenges are the facilitating workers for our ticket booth and concession stand areas. A portion of the proceeds from the concession stand sales is used to help cover some of the costs for athletics – particularly the football program. As we have in the past, we will rely heavily on the commitment, dedication, and hard work of our parental base to assist us with these tasks. We are confident we can count on you.
Included with this letter is the QR code to Sign Up Genius for the five home games and the jamboree. Every 8th – 11th grade football family must sign up for at least 1 shift. Shift 1 typically starts 1 hour before kickoff and ends at the end of the halftime. Shift 2 starts at the beginning of halftime and ends at the end of the game. Please make your selection ASAP to ensure that you secure a shift that works for your family. Families that do not sign up will be assigned a shift to work.
Please pay special attention to the times you are needed to report for your shift. We cannot stress how important it is that you make every effort to be punctual, if not perhaps a bit early, in reporting to your assigned area. Remember that you still must have a ticket for the game.
On behalf of our athletic department, our student-athletes, and our school, we thank you in advance for the sacrifice of your valuable time and talents to help make this year’s football season a success.
