General Announcements
Message from Dr. Millet
Louisiana will move into Phase 3 coronavirus restrictions on Friday, Gov. John Bel Edwards said in a press conference this morning. This announcement comes one day before Phase 2 restrictions expire. Gov. Edwards said he would release more details in the next day. Therefore, we will review these details and how they apply to our school setting.
We will use the week of September 14-18 to prepare for the return to the traditional school day based on the guidelines to be released tomorrow. Preparations include reviewing class size numbers, returning classroom furniture to our classrooms from storage, as well as adjusting schedules and protocols as needed. Our campus will need to be re-set with the appropriate number of desks in classrooms.
We will resume instruction in the traditional model on September 21, 2020. We are looking forward to having everyone on campus together.
I am grateful to our faculty, staff, students and parents for working through all of the challenges associated with this school year thus far. Thank you for your ongoing cooperation, support and prayers.
Blue & Gold Competition
Tomorrow, September 11, is the final day to submit canned food and t-shirt orders for the Blue & Gold competition.
The winning group will earn a week's worth of Friday dress, and now Dr. Millet is excited to grant the winning group a late-start day next week!
Be sure to get all your submissions in by 2:30 PM tomorrow!
Gold group is in the lead!
Also remember to order your spirit shirt!
Theme Spirit shirts are for sale in support of Campus Ministry. Orders forms are available in the rack by the front office. All orders are due by September 11. All checks should be made out to SCC.
Thank you for supporting Campus Ministry and all the service and support they provide our students!

Our SCC teachers read the scripture for the Liturgy of the Word, and our newest member of the English Department, Kate Abreo, led the hymns. We'd like to thank everyone who made our first Mass of the year so lovely, especially Fr. Steve who joined us from Luling. We look forward to our next Firm in Faith Friday on September 25.

Reminders for On & Off Campus Days
Off-Campus Days
Please be aware of these important points:
All students should be in a quiet spot at home when joining the Google Meet for synchronous learning.
Students should not be in a bed and should be properly dressed in an SCC shirt when logging in.
Should a student encounter problems logging in to their class's Google Meet, they should email the teacher and call the school to alert them of the issue.
Cell phones should not be used during class wether at home or on campus.
All rules regarding student behavior are still applicable to online learning; students should not seek to disrupt the class or be inappropriate in any way while online.
On-Campus Days
Please be aware of these important points:
School starts at 7:30 a.m. Cell phones should be off and stored in your schoolbag.
Neck gaiters are not part of the SCC approved face-coverings in the Student Handbook. Only face masks are acceptable, and they must be worn inside the building at all times.
No students are allowed to come inside the building before 7AM. This will allow for staff members to be present and provide health screenings upon student entry.
Students are reminded that they should have clear water bottles while on campus that can be refilled at our bottle-filling stations.
We appreciate your patience and support!
From September 1-15,
Shell will match gifts made during this time period by 2:1.
If you or someone you know is a current Shell employee, this is the time to act to triple your impact on the SCC’s United in Faith campaign. Once you’ve made your personal gift to SCC which can be done online, then please register your gift with Shell. A double match from Shell means that your $150 gift becomes $450 that supports our school. Thank you for your continuous and generous support of SCC. God bless you and your family.
