9th grade: 1980s
10th grade: 1970s
11th grade: 1960s
12th grade: 1950s

Hey Comets! You have the option this week of showing your Comet Pride by wearing clothing from your grade's decade. Simple sweatpants and t-shirts WILL NOT be accepted and students wearing such will be sent to the office to change.

Also, make appropriate posters for the pep rally to compliment your grade's decade! Posters will help with deciding the spirit winners for the pep rally.

If you choose not to dress down according to the theme for the day, you must wear your complete Friday dress uniform. Any student who violates the dress down rules will lose privileges to dress down for the remainder of the year and will receive disciplinary action. Remember that name-tags must be worn; shirts must have sleeves and may not be low cut. No crop tops, shirts with rips or tears, bandanas, clothing promoting drugs, violence, explicit themes, political themes, or cross- dressing will be allowed.

The following are NEVER allowed at SCC:
Hoodies
Jeans with holes or rips
Tight clothing such as yoga pants and joggers.
Inappropriate emblems, logos, or writing.
Crossdressing.
Sheer or sleeveless clothing.
Flip flops and sandals.
All shorts and skirts must be of appropriate (knee) length and have leggings under them (girls).

National Black Catholic History Month
This month, we’re honoring the men and women from Africa who have pioneered the faith! Many forget that Christianity didn’t start in Europe. Black Catholics have had a huge impact on the history and traditions of Christianity. The church has been celebrating Black Catholic History Month since 1990 when the National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus of the United States instigated it. November seemed appropriate because it holds special days for two prominent African Catholics: St. Augustine whose birthday is on November 13, and St. Martin de Porres whose feast day is celebrated on November 3. Each week we will recognize a notable Black Catholic Saint of the Church and ask their intercession as we strive to grow closer to Christ and one another.

THURSDAY NIGHTS, FCA MEETING, 6:00 P.M.
SCC Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets every Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. in the Commons. Come see what FCA at SCC is all about.

Currently, our senior division team is in 2nd place, and our junior division team is in 3rd place. Erin Powell and Allison Powell are tied for 1st place in the junior division. Good luck next week with Equations rounds 3 and 4!

SCC runs the concession stand at the home football games and is powered by our volunteers. Concession stand shifts run during a single game and last less than two hours. Helping out with a concession stand shift – for one game, or multiple games when time permits – is a great way for parents with limited time available to volunteer at SCC.
