Students must arrive by 9:00 AM and will be dismissed at 2:50PM
There will be a study hall at 7:30am for anyone who needs to arrive at school for that time.

Please note that during exam week on Tuesday we will have the Junior Prayer service starting at 9:15am in the Chapel and on Thursday we will have the Sophomore Prayer Service starting at 9:15am in the Chapel. These prayer services are mandatory for all students in those grades.

Senior Retreat will be at SCB and begin at 9am Oct. 18th as well.
On Wednesday, we celebrated Mass as a school, and our co-chaplain, Fr. David Ducote, said the Mass and offered us some insights into fostering deeper and more meaningful prayer. The Comet Community prayed together for freshman Dillon McTopy who is currently in the ICU. Please continue to pray for Dillon as he continues to receive treatment.
After Mass, the administration presented special awards to the Comets! First, our Catholicity Award winners from last May were recognized:
C.J. Piper, Kadynn Roussel, Nico Price, Armani Smith-Lumar, Kayla Crump, Morgan Figuero, Zoey Deroche, Kristen Grey, and Romi'an Davis.
We also recognized the Students of the Month for September, as nominated by the teachers of SCC:
8th Grade: Owen Faucheux & Madison Gradney, 9th Grade: Ben Brignac & Alexis Teabout, 10th Grade: Joseph Haydel & Emma Mohon, 11th Grade: Luke Boucvault & Lauren St. Martin, and 12th Grade: Collin Cedotal & Katelynn Decker. Our Teacher of the Month is Tricia Lowry!
Last Friday’s Pep Rally!
Students came to win at last Friday's Pep Rally! Our Comet Country western theme had students in flannel and straw hats competing for the Comet Cup! Charlie awarded a tie last week, giving equal spirit points to the Seniors and the Freshmen. The Sophomores won the Pep Rally game, a pie-eating contest, so they'll be getting some spirit points as well. Keep it up, Comets!
2019 Homecoming Court
The students have voted! We're proud to announce this year's Homecoming Court, a group of young ladies selected by their peers to represent SCC at our 2019 Homecoming festivities. Grades 8-11 are represented by two young ladies while the senior class elects six representatives.Students will soon vote again to select the Homecoming Queen, a senior girl who represents what it means to be a Comet! Good luck to all the senior girls, and congratulations to all the court members!

SCC will kick off our Comet for a Day events this month.
This spend a day program is designed for prospective students in grades 5 - 8. Visitors will enjoy a day on campus by attending classes, participating in fun activities, and eating lunch with current SCC students!
The day begins at 9AM and concludes at 2PM, with lunch provided. Spread the word!! You are our best advocates, and we are truly grateful for your encouraging testimonies to prospective families and friends in our community.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
This year, our senior class has 13 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who assist in serving the Eucharist at school Masses. We thank these students for service to the school, and we are proud to share them with you all! We pray that these students will continue to provide this ministry in their parish community for years to come.

2019 Quarterback Club
Offering an EXTRA HUGE thank you to the “pre-game meal” team! Every week, Richard Bork goes grocery shopping, the cafeteria cooks the meal, and Jen T., Jacki T., Staci B., and Kim L. serve our boys. The Friday pre-game meal is a ritual for the team – NO TALKING during this time. The boys eat promptly at 3:15 pm every Friday. Please let us know if you would like to help with the pre-game meal.

The JV and Varsity teams are continuing to work hard. Both teams defeated Riverside and Donaldsonville this week. Today the Freshmen, JV, and Varsity teams will play at Lutcher. Freshmen will begin at 4pm with JV and Varsity to follow.
The Varsity match will be the VSN game of the week and can be viewed on the livestream package at varsitysportsnow.com.

Affirmation Slip Off Campus Lunch Forms
All students who've earned an Affirmation Slip this quarter will be awarded with an off-campus lunch on October 15, 2019, leaving at 11:30 AM and returning no later than 12:20 PM. The permission slip for this lunch must be signed by a parent and turned in by October 14, 2019--no exceptions! This forms can be found in the magazine rack by the front office. Be sure to have your affirmation slip stapled to your form.
Exam Dress Down Guidelines
For $5 students will be allowed to wear an SCC shirt and jeans or sweatpants. Jeans and sweatpants must be without holes. Remember that nametags must be worn; shirts must have sleeves and may not be low cut. No crop tops, rips, tears, hoodies, bandanas, yoga pants, clothing promoting drugs, violence, explicit themes, political themes, or cross- dressing will be allowed. Money is due during first period this Wednesday, October 9th.
Dance Dress Codes
Keep in mind that SCC considers it proper to guard against students wearing any dress that is revealing enough to become a distraction or is inappropriate for a high school dance. Any interpretation, judgment, and final authority lies with the administrator in charge.
The administration expects ALL GIRLS to purchase a dress that meets the standards set by a Catholic HighSchool. A respect for one’s body and proper presentation at a dance is appropriate for SCC students. Keepin mind that if you arrive at a function (dance, banquet, etc.) dressed in a manner deemed inappropriate will be given a large t-shirt to wear.
No immodest bare backs, no low necklines, no visible midriffs, no two-piece or cut-outs (Any
student or guest will be given a large T-shirt to wear if the administration considers the top to be

Concession Food Tickets at Football Games
Starting Friday night (10/4), SCC will sell tickets to purchase food and drink at the concession stand. Please be sure to buy your tickets before heading to the concession stand. Please remember that outside food and drinks are not allowed. The Starsteppers will sell Pastalaya as our special concession. Tickets will need to purchased for all concessions, including special concessions.
SCC runs the concession stand at the home football games and is powered by our volunteers. Concession stand shifts run during a single game and last less than two hours. Helping out with a concession stand shift – for one game, or multiple games when time permits – is a great way for parents with limited time available to volunteer at SCC. If you’d like to get involved, please contact Connie Powell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are still interested in playing soccer and couldn’t make the meeting, you may still sign up in the front officeuntil October 10. The Boy's Soccer meeting originally scheduled for today at 6pm has been rescheduled for Wedensday, Oct. 16th @ 6pm.

FCA is selling spirit T-shirts and sweatshirts. Order forms are available in the rack across from the front office. Please return your form to the box on the table by the front office. Deadline to place your order is Friday, October 11th. See Coach Z for more details.
Anyone who has signed up to participate in the 2020 Carnival Ball Court and anyone who is looking for more information; there will be a PARENT meeting to review the rules and important dates on Monday, October 14 at 6pm in the Commons. Packets are being sent home with students today (October 3).
Members should come by the Music Room Monday or Wednesday to pick up their YANKEE CANDLE FUNDRAISING PACKET. All members are expected to participate.

Campus Ministry is now offering Chapel Thursdays at lunch from 12:20-12:35. Please join us for prayer and reflection every Thursday. Take a break from your busy schedule to get spiritually recharged and renewed by the love of God and His presence. ALL students are welcomed! Chapel Thursdays will consists of scripture readings, christian music, and quiet time. After you eat lunch, come spend some time with Jesus.

Lost and Found
Be sure to come to the front office to check the lost and found. There are many items such as: water bottles, glasses, pencil pouches, sweatshirts, school and PE uniforms, drawstring bags, etc. These items will be discarded soon if they are not claimed.

Juniors and Seniors received Balfour packets today with information on rings and graduation announcements. Balfour will be on campus October 22 during lunch to take orders. The $100 deposit is due at this time and payments can be made until March on the balance.
