NEWS FROM CAMPUS

Last Friday’s Orange Pep Rally!

Students came to school decked out in orange as we worked to raise awareness about Leukemia while cheering on the Comets who CRUSHED the Cavaliers! Thanks to everyone who made this awesome event possible!

This Friday’s Special Spirit Events

SCC will have a lunch pep rally this Friday! The pep rally will begin at 11:40 in the gym. Any student present in the gym must be sitting in their grade level's section. Come out and enjoy the performances from our spirit teams, cheer on the Comets with student chants, and compete in a student game! Spirit points will be awarded to the class with the most enthusiasm at this pep rally!
Go Bold and Go Gold

This Friday students are invited to wear GOLD to school! Students are allowed to wear GOLD t-shirts, GOLD hair accessories, GOLD jewelry, GOLD socks — along with their Friday dress — regular school bottoms! The grade with the most participation will win 10 points for the Comet Cup. Fans should also wear GOLD to the game and stadium blessing Friday night!

Stadium Blessing

Everyone is invited to St. Charles Catholic High School on Friday September 27, 2019 for the 5:30 Stadium Blessing and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Archbishop Aymond will say the blessing, and Mrs. Gayle Benson will be joining us for this momentous occasion. We'd love to have all of Comet Country present to mark this special day!

Attention Ambassadors, Dr. Millet would like any Ambassadors not already involved in a spirit group or student council to assist us at the ribbon cutting ceremony and at the start of the football game on Friday, September 27th. The Ambassadors would help seat the VIP guests in the chairs near the tent for the ceremony then serve as ushers to help people find their seats in the stadium - especially the century club members. Ambassadors would have to be at SCC Friday night for 4:45pm and meet on Friday to review details. We will need at least 15-20 members to work this event. Ambassadors, please reply to the Google Classroom question if you are able to participate and serve at this important event.

ACT at SCC October 1

How to Prepare

Students should eat a good breakfast and get a good night's sleep the night before the test.
All students need to bring their photo ID (school ID will work), 2 #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils allowed), and an ACT approved calculator.
No school bags, cell phones, or electronic devices will be allowed in the testing rooms. Cell phones must be locked in your lockers. iPads, laptops, and school bags should be left at home. Any after-school sports bags may be left in a room designated by administration, but no cell ohones are allowed in those bags.
Discuss with your child about your and his or her post-secondary opportunities, what he/she would like to do in the future, and which schools he/she would like to attend to achieve those goals.
Discuss the importance of this test and the information that it will provide to him/her and SCC to help inform future decisions.

Lunch & Learn
Comets learned from Crystal Burch at this week's Lunch & Learn! She spoke about College & Career readiness and about how every opportunity counts! This week's ACT is an opportunity in itself, and we hope everyone at this week's Lunch & Learn feels inspired for the tests on Tuesday!
