Athletic Banquet Awards
The All Sports Athletic Banquet took place on Tuesday, May 14, after being delayed a few days in anticipation of the Baseball State Championship. During the banquet, coaches and athletes were recognized for their outstanding achievements this school year in their respective seasons. Attendees enjoyed a special slideshow of images from the different events throughout the year as well as a delicious dinner!
We'd love to congratulate Robbie Gilbert, Mr. Comet 2019, and Kelsie Williams, Ms. Comet 2019. Mr. and Ms. Comet are special awards given to the most outstanding athletes of the senior class, and Robbie & Kelsie certainly earned their titles over the years at SCC! It was a great evening, and we were so happy to celebrate with our Baseball State Champs!

SCHOOL INFORMATION & ANNOUNCEMENTS
The School Food and Nutrition Services would like to announce changes in lunch prices for the 2019-2020 school year:
Breakfast- High School : $2. 25; Reduced: $.30
Lunch- High School: $3.25; High School Special Lunch: $3.75; Reduced- $.40
There is always a risk of state and/or federal funding cuts. If this were t occur, these prices would adjust accordingly.
Used Uniform Sale
On Monday, June 10th 1-3 pm and on Tuesday, June 11th 1-3 pm and 6-7pm, SCC will hold its annual used uniform sale. Mrs. Connie Powell will be facilitating this opportunity. Anyone looking to bring in old uniforms to contribute to the sale may do so anytime before these dates, even today! Items can be dropped off at the office.
Any current student interested in playing volleyball next year will have a meeting after school on Wednesday, May 22 in the gym for 20 minutes.
Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 2pm. Incoming students will have tryouts on Tuesday, May 28 at 3pm.
Service Hour Opportunity
AOL is having a remediation "Finish Strong" session for grades 1 - 4, from Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31, from 9 - 12. If any students are interested in service hours contact the front office and ask for Janet Baker.
Any students interested in being in the Carnival Ball Court should sign up with Mrs. Lowry from May 21-29. The Carnival Ball will be held on February 1, 2020.
2019 Graduation Pictures
Romaguera sent a link to the Class of 2019 parents to order Graduation Ceremony Photos. If you did not receive the link please call Romaguera Photography at 504-828-3064. The link is personalized to each graduate and was sent on May 12.
Class of 2020 Graduation picture summer sessions
All current juniors were given a postcard from Romaguera Photography with the Super Senior Week yearbook and senior portraits dates on campus from June 26 - 28. Call the studio or book online. The pictures taken at this time will be used in the yearbook.
All Sports Awards Night
Thank you to all those who were able to attend our annual All Sports Awards Night! Any athlete who was unable to attend should see Mrs. Lowry for their award. Any awards that need to be corrected should be brought to Mrs. Lowry as soon as possible.

Underclassmen may NOT park in senior parking spots without checking with Mrs. Bordelon beforehand. You must come and let her know which spot you are moving to and can NOT park there until Wednesday, May 8th
Prom pictures are needed for yearbook. If you have any good shots from the prom itself, please email to Mrs. Bordelon(firstname.lastname@example.org ) with a brief comment about who is in it and what is happening. Please send her these ASAP!
Dual Enrollment for 2019-2020
Attention all students who have signed up to take a Dual Enrollment Course next school year (2019-2020): According to a directive for Southeastern Louisiana University, you "must have a minimum UNWEIGHTED GPA of 2.5 and a composite ACT score of 19 (or equivalent)."
To take English and foreign language, you must also have "an English subscore of at least 18." To take math, you must also have "a math subscore of at least 19."
"To take biology, students must have both the math and English subscores."
Please note that "seniors in their second semester must have both the math and English subscores to take ANY [semester] dual enrollment course." These score must be achieved before enrolling in the Dual Enrollment courses; therefore, if you have not yet taken the ACT or have not yet achieved these required scores, you must take the ACT before the first day of school in August. There is an ACT scheduled for June 8 and one for July 13.
SUMMER SERVICE OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans is offering a summer service program, Students Engaging in Reflective Volunteer Experiences, SERVE. This an opportunity for high school students to give back to the community and achieve the service hours required by many parochial high schools. Sessions run for four weeks with options to earn 12-32 hours. SERVE sites include a homeless shelter, two adult day healthcare centers, and a food bank. Students must be incoming freshman through seniors. Registration is non- refundable –$15 for Mini-SERVE or $30 for SERVE. Registration is open now until full. All participants will receive a t-shirt.
