What a super busy week at SCC! Senior exams are finished and graduation preparations are in full swing!
Please note: Depending on the outcome of Sunday's semi-final baseball playoff game, the All Sports Award's Night will be Monday at 6:00pm or Tuesday at a time to be announced.
Please be sure that your underclassmen students are preparing for the end of the school year and exams by making sure that you check your child's PlusPortals account for grades, assignments, and exam review information.

Congratulations to our boys 4x800 Meter relay team on 6th place finish in the 3A State Championship. The team consists of Collin Cedotal, Luke Brouwer, Greg Bergeron, Ishan Iyer and alternate Dominic Boesen. Great finish from a tough start!

Senior Class of 2019
Check your Senior Google Classroom for an important announcement about the senior slide show and picture submissions.
Seniors should be bringing in a paper copy of any and all scholarships they are offered. Please give to Mrs. Suzy Bologna. They are also to complete the Senior Exit Survey that was sent to their email on April 8th, 2019. This is a required form that must be completed before graduation. Mrs. Bologna will send the senior transcripts to the senior’s respective colleges the week after graduation, so it is imperative that she have the senior’s information as soon as possible.
Underclassmen may NOT park in senior parking spots without checking with Mrs. Bordelon beforehand. You must come and let her know which spot you are moving to and can NOT park there until Wednesday, May 8th
Prom pictures are needed for yearbook. If you have any good shots from the prom itself, please email to Mrs. Bordelon(email@example.com ) with a brief comment about who is in it and what is happening. Please send her these ASAP!
Dual Enrollment for 2019-2020
Attention all students who have signed up to take a Dual Enrollment Course next school year (2019-2020): According to a directive for Southeastern Louisiana University, you "must have a minimum UNWEIGHTED GPA of 2.5 and a composite ACT score of 19 (or equivalent)."
To take English and foreign language, you must also have "an English subscore of at least 18." To take math, you must also have "a math subscore of at least 19."
"To take biology, students must have both the math and English subscores."
Please note that "seniors in their second semester must have both the math and English subscores to take ANY [semester] dual enrollment course." These score must be achieved before enrolling in the Dual Enrollment courses; therefore, if you have not yet taken the ACT or have not yet achieved these required scores, you must take the ACT before the first day of school in August. There is an ACT scheduled for June 8 and one for July 13.
SUMMER SERVICE OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans is offering a summer service program, Students Engaging in Reflective Volunteer Experiences, SERVE. This an opportunity for high school students to give back to the community and achieve the service hours required by many parochial high schools. Sessions run for four weeks with options to earn 12-32 hours. SERVE sites include a homeless shelter, two adult day healthcare centers, and a food bank. Students must be incoming freshman through seniors. Registration is non- refundable –$15 for Mini-SERVE or $30 for SERVE. Registration is open now until full. All participants will receive a t-shirt.
