Mr. Cupit Announces Retirement

SCC Principal Andrew Cupit announced his retirement plans this week after 30 years of service to St. Charles Catholic High School.

Dear Comet Family,

Thirty years ago I was happily serving as principal of LaPlace Elementary when an opportunity to practice my profession and faith at the same location presented itself. After much prayer and discernment, I applied for the principalship of St. Charles Catholic and was awarded the position to serve as its spiritual and educational leader in July 1989. cupit Now, after a total of 50 years in education, I hear the Lord calling me to step aside and turn all of my attention to my role as a husband, father of seven, and grandfather of eleven (soon to be 12) grandchildren. Therefore, I will be retiring at the end of this school year in June 2019.
I truly thank our Lord for leading me to this privilege of serving as SCC principal for 30 years. A special thank you to all of the SCC family (students, parents, alumni, and friends) for what you have done to support my efforts to fulfill our mission of “helping each other get to heaven.”
May our Lord continue to bless each of you and SCC, and may we always “Fly High and Shine Bright” in His Glory.

Always a Comet,

Andrew Cupit
