On October 26, the volleyball teams competed with Destrehan at Comet gym. The freshmen team took the victory in the one and only match of the season. Hard work paid off as the girls won by scores of 25-19 and 25-16 over the Wildcats. The JV played a tough match but lost by scores of 26-24 and 25-15. The future is bright for Lady Comet volleyball.
The seniors of 2022 were recognized before the game for their years on the volleyball team. Seniors are Hannah Brady, Madison Hebert, and Kali Ramirez. The Varsity team battled back after losing the first two games by scores of 17-25 and 16-25. The Lady Comets worked hard and took the momentum to defeat the Wildcats in the next three games; 25-13, 25-22, and 15-12. Leading the way statistically were Mya Brown and Madison Hebert. Mya had 20 kills and 2 solo blocks while Madi added 12 kills and a season high 5 solo blocks. Setter, Sarah Beth Sirmon, had 29 assists and 3 aces. Morgan Nuccio had 6 kills and 3 aces. Defensively, the Lady Comets had a season high 25 digs. Camryn Triche, libero, had a season high 12 digs, adding 3 digs each were Sarah Beth Sirmon, Haley Scioneaux, and Sydney Remondet, adding 2 digs each were Hannah Brady and Morgan Nuccio. The State tournament bracket will be released on Monday, November 1. Bi-District play will be on Tuesday or Wednesday.
