2020 Season
2020 State Swimming Results
The boy’s and girl’s swim teams competed at the State Swim Meet in Shreveport on
November 19. The boys finished 9 th in Division III and the girls finished 7 th in
Division III. The following results were some of the team highlights: 200 yd. medley
relay of Aubrey Westbrook, Bella Marix, Katherine Chapman, and Lauren St. Martin
finished 8 th . The boys 200 yd. medley relay of Matthew Schexnayder, Dominic
Joseph, Duncan Lowry, and Riley Weber finished 9 th . The 200 yd. freestyle relay for
the girl’s finished 6 th : Courtney Brouwer, Lauren St. Martin, Juliana Portillo, and Mia
Oncale and the boy’s finished 5 th : Cameron Brady, Riley Weber, Trey Romaguera,
and Jackson Jensen. In the 400 yd. freestyle relay the girl’s finished 7 th and the boy’s
finished 8 th : the relays included Courtney Brouwer, Juliana Portillo, Aubrey
Westbrook, Mia Oncale, Cameron Brady, Trey Romaguera, Duncan Lowry, and
Jackson Jensen. Mia Oncale finished 7 th in the 50 yd. freestyle and will represent the
East All Star team on December 5 th at St. James Aquatics. Coach Michelle Jensen was
proud of her swimmers this season and many of team swam their personal best
times at the State Meet.

The swim team participated in a meet at Cypress Lakes Country Club on Saturday,
October 10. The following swimmers made a State time in these events:
Hartley Faucheux – 100 yd backstroke
Mia Oncale – 200 yd IM
Trey Romaguera – 100 yd freestyle and 100 yd breaststroke
The next meet is Saturday, October 17 at St. James Aquatic Center in Lutcher. “I have been very proud of my results at this year, but also very proud of the girls in general. we all work very hard, and that shows at the meets” said Julianna.Results Of Riverlands Country Club Meet
On Monday, October 5 the Comet swim team hosted a meet at Riverlands Country Club with Destrehan and Riverside Academy. These Comets met the qualifying times for the State meet: Mia Oncale in the 100 yd freestyle, Juliana Portillo in the 50 yd and 100 yd freestyle, Aubrey Westbrook in the 200 yd freestyle, and Duncan Lowry in the 200 yd IM. Way to go swimmers! "This season we have certainly faced new challenges, like not being able to cheer our teammates on from the side of the pool, but we have definitely been working hard to persevere." said Senior Lauren St.Martin.
Results of Lutcher meet #2
The SCC swim results from St. James Aquatic Center on Saturday, October 3, 2020. Congratulations to the following swimmers for achieving qualifying State times on Saturday: Hartley Faucheux – 100 yd butterfly Carter Ory – 500 yd freestyle Emily Ronnenburg – 500 yd freestyle Trey Romaguera – 50 yd freestyle."This season has been different because of covid regulations, but we are having a good season and to continue to have one' said Senior Jackson Jensen.
Results Of Nicholls Meet
Swim team State qualifiers on Saturday, September 26 hosted by
Crawfish Aquatics on the campus of Nicholls State. Mia Oncale: 100 yd butterfly and 200 yd freestyle Lauren St. Martin: 100 yd freestyle Katherine Chapman: 100 yd butterfly Matthew Schexnayder: 100 yd backstroke Bella Marix: 100 yd breaststroke Cameron Brady: 100 yd butterfly."I believe that this swim season has been the most difficult because of the covid regulations and that we were not able to train properly. I believe we are overcoming these challenges by pushing one another to work harder" said Senior Blakely Heltz.
Results of Lutcher Meet #1
The Comets had a very successful first meet. Ten swimmers qualified for state in the meet against Lutcher, the Comets will be swimming at Nicholls on Saturday. 2020 Season Preview
The Comet Swim Team will kickoff the swim season September 19th at Lutcher High School. Last year, the Comets had a very successful season. At the District Championship Meet, the girls team placed second and the boys team placed third. At the state championship in Sulphur, the Comets placed 6th overall, with girls finishing 6th overall and the boys 7th overall. The 2021 Comet Swim Team is filled with many senior leaders."Looking forward to the swim season. We have a lot of new talent and a strong junior group of girls" said Coach Michelle. "I am excited to compete with my best friends for our senior year" said senior Jackson Jensen. Senior swimmers are Joey nuccio,Cade pregeant,Emily Ronnenberg,Blakely Heltz, Lauren St.Martin,Dominic Joeseph Duncan Lowry, Courtney Brouwer,Jackson Jensen,and Riley Weber.
The Comets are currently working on completing thier schedule so far the Comets have schedule meets Lutcher, Destrehan, Nicholls.
