Metro East District Championships

The Comet swim team competed in the Metro East District Championships on Saturday, October 30 at St. James Aquatic Center in Lutcher. The Girl’s Team finished 2^nd and the Boy’s team finished 3^rd.

Highlights of the meet were the relay teams, which are recognized as All-District. In the 200 free relay, the girl’s placed 1^st; the relay included Juliana Portillo, Hartley Faucheux, Katherine Chapman, and Mia Oncale. In the 400 free relay, the girls finished 2^nd which included Aubrey Westbrook, Katherine Chapman, Bella Marix, and Juliana Portillo. The boy’s 200 free relay finished 3^rd and included Trey Romaguera, Kyle Cannon, Owen Faucheux, and Cameron Brady.

Other top finishers were All-District recipients:

Mia Oncale - 1^st in 50 free and 2^nd in 500 free,

Juliana Portillo - 2^nd in 50 free and 3^rd in 500 free,

Aubrey Westbrook - 2^nd in 100 backstroke,

Bella Marix - 2^nd in 100 breast,

Hartley Faucheux - 2^nd in 100 butterfly, and

Katherine Chapman - 3^rd in 100 butterfly, which qualified her for State.
