Dutchtown Invitational March 4th at Dutchtown High School

The first meet of the Track and Field season begins during the Mardi Gras holidays. These Comet athletes made the commitment to practice and compete the entire week. There were several outstanding performances in a meet which featured 8 teams, all of whom are in higher classifications than SCC. The field events were led by Jake Jeandron and newcomer Krissten Ellsworth. Jake placed 4th in
the Discus and the Javelin while Krissten placed 5th in the Javelin and 6th in the Discus. On the oval the team was led by last year’s State Runner Up in the 400m Dash Samare Scott. Samare won the 200m Dash with a personal best effort and placed 4th in the 100m Dash. Other outstanding performances included Jordan Roberts setting a personal record in the 800m Run and Layla Jackson, Conner Carter, and Chesney Carter competing for the first time in the 100m Dash.
