Weekly Round-Up - April 28, 2014
The Lady Comets kept their season alive on Monday, April 21st, in their first round playoff game against E.D. White. The game began on Monday, but had to be finished on Tuesday due to darkness. The Lady Comets overcame the ejection of Coach Ty and defeated E.D. White 11-10 in a wild extra inning game. The Lady Comets were then scheduled to play Notre Dame on Friday, April 25th. The Lady Comets fought hard, but were defeated 6-5 to end their season. The Lady Comets finished off the season with a 21-9 record.
State playoffs - Comets host E.D. White Monday
The Comet softball team will host E. D White Monday, April 21, in the first round of the state playoffs. The game will start at 5 pm. Tickets are $7 and are available at the gate. Since this is a playoff game everyone must pay including students and Century Club members.
The Comets ended the season with a 20-8 record which earned them a 13 seed in the playoffs. E. D White earned the 20th seed. The two teams met just a few weeks ago with the Comets coming out on top 10-8 in a high scoring game.
Weekly Round-Up - April 17, 2014
The Lady Comets started off their last stretch of softball with a tough double header against Parkview and Catholic PC on Saturday April 5th. Unfortunately the Lady Comets could not pull off a victory in either of these games. The Lady Comets did a great job of bouncing back and defeating non-district opponent, ED White, 10-8 on Monday, April 7th. On Wednesday, April 9th the Lady Comets traveled to Hannan and defeated them in a close game, 11-10. The Lady Comets finished off district play Thursday, April 10th defeating McGehee 16-0 bringing their district record to 5-1. On Saturday April 12th the Lady Comets suffered a tough loss to Vandebilt Catholic, 10-0. The Lady Comets finished off their regular season on Tuesday, April 15th with a 6-5 victory over Covington in extra innings. The next game for the Lady Comets will be their 1st round playoff game.
Weekly Round-Up - April 4, 2014
On Tuesday March 25th the Lady Comets defeated their district competitor McMain 15-0 in 3 innings. On Thursday March 27th they defeated another district competitor De La Salle 12-2 in 6 innings. The Lady Comets then went on to beat St. Katherine Drexel 16-0 in 3 innings. On Wednesday April 3rd the Lady Comets defeated Ascension Catholic, a non-district opponent, 5-2. The Lady Comets then defeated Lusher 15-0 in 3 innings to improve their district record to 4-1. The Lady comets next competition will be a double header at Parkview on Saturday April 5th. The Lady Comets will play Parkview at 1 p.m. and Catholic PC at 3 p.m.
Weekly Round-Up - March 25, 2014
The Lady Comets competed in the Lutcher Tournament this past Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Lady Comets fell short to the Lutcher Bulldogs 10-6 after allowing Lutcher to score 7 runs in the first inning. On Saturday the Lady Comets had a tough loss to Ursuline 10-6. The Comets went ahead in the 5th inning 6-2, but Ursuline went on to score 8 unanswered runs. The Lady Comets defeated Ellender 5-3 in their final game of the tournament. On Monday March 24th the Lady Comets defeated St. James 16-0 to move their record to 9-5. The Lady Comets will continue district play on Tuesday March 25th against McMain.
Weekly Round-Up - March 17, 2014
The Lady Comets competed in the St. Amant Tournament this past Friday and Saturday. On Friday March 14th the Lady Comets were defeated by St. Louis 2-0. In their first game on Saturday March 15th the Lady Comets beat Central Lafourche 17-1, but in the second game the Comets were defeated by Sulphur 5-1. The Lady Comets moved to 7-2 and their next competition will be away Thursday, March 20, at 5:00 pm against John Curtis.
Weekly Round-Up - March 11, 2014
The Lady Comets move to 5-0 after going 3-0 in the SCC tournament and defeating Maurepas this past Saturday. The Lady Comets started off the tournament with a 12-0 victory over Haynes. The Lady Comets the went on to defeat Hannan 13-1 and St. James 9-0. Coach Ty went on to say "We outscored our opponents 34-1 which says a lot about our defense." On Saturday March 8th the Lady Comets defeated Maurepas 19-4. Among the top players was Sophomore Destiny Wesley who hit a two run homerun that gave the Lady Comets a spark to pull away from the Maurepas Wolves at the top of the fourth inning.
Weekly Round-Up - February 27, 2014
The Lady Comets, led by Taylor Miller, came out with a 16-6 victory over Covington Tuesday, February 25th. Sophomore Destiny Wesley went 5 for 6 at the plate and both Senior Jessica Mire and Junior Paige Williams went 3 for 5. 8th grader Taylor Miller did a great job for the Comets on the mound by having no walks. Sophomore Sara Louque said "Taylor did a great job as an 8th grader on the mound stepping up when we needed her." The Lady Comets will host their tournament Thursday, February 27th - Saturday, March 1st.

The Start of a New Season
The Lady Comets are a very young team after losing 7 seniors from last year. The Comets start off their season Tuesday, February 25, against Covington. The game will be held at Covington at 4 o'clock. Also, later this week the Comets will hold their tournament Thursday-Saturday.
