Weekly Roundup- April 27, 2015
Caldwell Playoffs
The Comets won their second playoff game against Caldwell in a rescheduled game on Sunday April 26 due to terrible weather on Saturday. The girls beat Caldwell 6-1. The Comets scored half of their runs in the first inning on an RBI from Paige Williams, and Morgan Nobile and Caroline Julian scored on steals. In the second inning, St. Charles allowed no one on base. Jade Brady pitched most of the game, and Kelsie Williams pitched the end. The Lady Comets will advance to Sulfur and play Brusly in the quarterfinals on Friday at 2:00 pm.

West Feliciana Playoffs
In the first round of playoffs, the Comets defeated #31 West Feliciana 16-1 in 3 innings. The Comets loaded up the bases off of walks, and Paige Williams scored 3 run with a double. Sara Louque had a single and 2 RBI. The Lady Comets scored 7 of their runs in the first inning. Jade Brady started the game by pitching 2 innings, and then Junior Ashley St. Martin came in to finish it off. The girls advance to the second round of playoffs where they will host Caldwell Parish on Saturday April 25 at 2:00.
Weekly Roundup- April 16, 2015
Games over the Easter Break
The Lady Comets played Lusher on April 2 and came out with a 15-0 win. On April 7, the girls played Hannan that also resulted in another win. They won 16-6 with 16 hits and scored 9 of their runs in the last 2 innings. On April 9, the Lady Comets played Maurepas and won 15-0. Destiney Wesley and Kaitlyn Lowry went 2 for 2, and Paige Williams went 3 for 3. These 3 wins put the Lady Comets in a good position for playoffs. The Lady Comets played Catholic PC to end their regular season and lost 6-0. The Lady Comets record is 23-6, and they will play their first playoff game on April 21.
Franklinton
After traveling to Franklinton, the Lady Comets came back with a 8-5 win on April 1. Junior Morgan Nobile went 2 for 3, and pitcher Jade Brady struck out 7 batters and went 3 for 4 at the plate. The Lady Comets will have a busy schedule over the Easter Break.
St. Katharine Drexel
The Lady Comets played St. Katharine Drexel home on Tuesday March 31. The Comets played with only one starter and Ashley St. Martin on the mound. The girls still came out with a 16-0 win. Freshman Pylar Zeringue went 3 for 3, Robbie Duhe went 2 for 2, and junior Ashley St. Martin had 8 strikeouts.

Thomas Jefferson
On Monday March 30, the Lady Comets played Thomas Jefferson. The Lady Comets ended the game by ten run ruling Thomas Jefferson and leaving them to no runs (10-0) . Freshman Jade Brady led her team to the win by pitching a no hitter. The ladies advance their record to 18-5.
Parkview & Teurlings
The Lady Comets held a double header on Saturday March 28 against Parkview Baptist(#1 team in class 3A) at 11:00 and Teurlings(class 4A) at 3:00. They had a 7-1 loss against Parkview who ended the Lady Comet's long winning streak. The team agrees it was a tough team that came with a tough loss. In their second game against Teurlings, whom they beat 12-11 in 7 innings on March 6, the Lady Comets won 7-2. Freshman Jade Brady led her team to their win by pitching 6 innings. The Comets scored all 7 of their runs in the first two innings. The girls didn't let the first loss against Parkview discourage them in their second game.
De La Salle
On Tuesday March 26, the Lady Comets played away at De La Salle. The Lady Comets held De La Salle to no runs and obtained a 17-0 win. It was another district game win for the Comets. Their district record will advance to 4-0.

KELSIE WILLIAMS St. Charles Catholic
Williams had a breakout performance Thursday against top-ranked Curtis. The eighth-grade pitcher went the distance on the moundagainst the Patriots holding them to one run and seven hits. Williams didn’t record a strikeout but pounded the strike zone all game forcing a combined 20 ground and fly ball out.
McMain & McGhee
The Lady Comets played a double header at Carrollton against McMain and McGhee on Tuesday March 24. The Lady Comets had two major scoring games. They defeated McMain 16-0 and McGhee 14-0. They Lady Comets are at a 9 game winning streak, and their record will advance to 15-4.
St. James
On Monday March 23, the Lady Comets ten run ruled St. James at home in 5 innings for a win of 10-0. Destiney Wesley and Kaitlyn Lowry were both 3 for 4, and Lela Hill and Morgan Nobile were both 2 for 3. Kelsie Williams pitched the first two innings, and Ashley St. Martin, Jade Brady, and Kaitlyn Boudreaux all pitched a no-hit inning.
Lutcher Tournament
The Lady Comets played in the Lutcher tournament March 20-21 against Lutcher, Ursuline, and Ellender. The girls went 3-0 with a total of 42 hits in 3 games. The Lady Comets pitched Jade Brady and beat Lutcher 15-1 with Destiney Welsey for 5 RBIs and Jade Brady was 3 for 3. In the Ursuline game, they won 17-3. Morgan Nobile and Pylar Zeringue(3 RBIs) were 3 for 3, and Grace Mohon and Paige Williams(5 RBIs) were 2 for 3. The Lady Comets finished off their weekend with defeating Ellender 6-4 where Caroline Julian was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. The Lady Comets had a successful weekend.

John Curtis
The Lady Comets won their first district game against John Curtis 4-1 on March 19. It was an exciting and thrilling win for the Comets. Eighth grader Kelsie Williams pitched the whole game against John Curtis who's record was 10-1 until the Lady Comets added another loss to their record. Coach Ty said, "She did an excellent job and kept them off balance the whole day." Williams pitched, and her team made the plays. Freshman Caroline Julian was a key factor to their offense as she went 1 for 2 with a double and three RBIs. The Lady Comets advance their record to 9-4. They will participate in the Lutcher tournament March 20 and 21.
Pope John Paul
The Lady Comets traveled to Pope John Paul on Tuesday March 17 to end their four game losing streak. Catcher Morgan Nobile said, "We had no emotion and there was no cheering in the dugout. We knew we had to get back whatever we lost." They Lady Comets definitely got back whatever they lost and won the game with 10 hits that lead to a score of 14-4. The Comet's next game will be a big home district game against John Curtis.

St. Amant Tournament
The Lady Comets participated in the St. Amant Tournament that took place on Friday and Saturday, March 13 & 14. They lost their first game against Rayne 9-8. The next day, the Lady Comets played Covington which resulted of another loss of 10-3. The girls were 0-2 in the St. Amant Tournament. Their next game will be played away at Pope John Paul on Tuesday March 17.
Rescheduled Games
The Lady Comet's game against Maurepas has been rescheduled for Thursday April 9, and the Franklinton game has also been rescheduled for Wednesday April 1.

Berwick Tournament
On March 6, the Lady Comets traveled to Berwick for a tournament where they played Teurlings Catholic on Friday and Berwick and Central Catholic on Saturday. They girls made a comeback win on Friday against Teurlings Catholic. They were down 11-0 and then won 12-11 in 7 innings. On Saturday, the girls played Berwick which resulted in a loss of 9-1. Their last game was against Central Catholic where the Lady Comets lost 3-2. The girls ended the tournament 1-2. Their record overall is 7-2.
Dominican & Country Day
The Lady Comets had two games the week of March 2. They played Dominican for the second time on Tuesday March 3. The Comets were ahead the whole game for a 8-3 win. The girls then played Country Day for a victory of 12-1. Junior Morgan Nobile said that they have a good winning streak going for their team.

St. Charles Tournament
The Lady Comets started off their tournament by playing against Dominican. The Comets were down 4-0, but they made a strong come back. The girls accomplished a win of 7-6. Senior Kaitlyn Lowry stepped up to the plate and got a double, and then senior Paige Williams hit a walk off double that scored the winning run. Senior Paige Williams told Lowry, "If you get on, I'll score you", and she kept her promise that won the game for the Lady Comets. The girls played again on Saturday against Hannan and Chalmette which both resulted in wins. The Lady Comets beat Hannan 3-0 and Chalmette 14-3. The Comets were 3-0 in their hosted tournament. The girls will play again March 3 against Dominican.
Weekly Roundup- February 25, 2015
The 2015 Comet softball team started off their season Saturday, February 21st in their jamboree. The girls' first game was against Destrehan that resulted in a 4-1 win. Their second game was played against East Ascension where they lost 5-1. On Tuesday, February 24, the Lady Comets had their first official game against Covington. They won 11-0 and ended the game in 5 innings. Junior Destiny Wesley hit her first home run of the season. The Lady Comets are off to a good start of their season and will play again this weekend in their tournament lasting through Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
