Region Champs!
Congratulations to the Comet golf team for winning the Division II Region II golf tournament on Monday at Grand
Ridge in Luling. Sophomore Dane Galiano led the entire field of 48 golfers with a one over par score of 73.
Galiano overcame a rough start to shoot 33 on the back 9 which included 3 birdies. Jackson Monica’s 35 foot eagle putt on the second hole gave him early momentum for a 34 on the front 9. He
finished with a season best score of 75. Brady St Pierre made several 20+ foot putts and finished with a 77. Kason Gilbert (83) and Brooks Monica (84) both shot solid rounds and helped the Comets to an outstanding team score of 308.
The Comets advance to the State tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Wetlands course in Lafayette.
