About Us
Welcome To St. Charles Catholic
As the principal of St. Charles Catholic High School, it is with immense joy that I welcome you to our online community. Here, you will discover what makes St. Charles Catholic High School truly exceptional among secondary schools in the River Parishes.
We are thrilled that you've taken the first step in exploring our spiritual life, academic achievements, athletic successes, and the dedication of our faculty and staff. With just a few clicks, you can see firsthand why St. Charles Catholic High School remains the spiritual and academic leader of the River Parishes.
Since our founding in Destrehan, Louisiana, in 1948, and our move to LaPlace in 1978, much has changed, but our commitment to educational excellence has only grown. We continue to advance with the latest technology and innovative teaching methods. Our students engage in a one-to-one MacBook/iPad program, use wireless technology in classrooms, and incorporate best practices into their assignments and projects.
Spiritually, our students take part in activities such as World Youth Day, the March for Life in Washington, D.C., and annual class retreats. A dedicated group of senior students serves as a Peer Ministry Team, leading spiritual retreats for students in grades 5 through 8 at our feeder schools. Our students also give back to the community through service projects, including Relay for Life, Vacation Bible Schools, and food drives for areas impacted by recent hurricanes.
I warmly invite you to visit our campus and witness the remarkable things happening in our classrooms, on our sports fields, and within the greater St. Charles community. Our patron saint, St. Charles Borromeo, a strong advocate for education, continues to inspire our success through his intercession.
Thank you for your interest in St. Charles Catholic High School! Please visit us often for the latest Comet news and achievements. May God bless you!
Sincerely,
Shelly Chauvin, Ed.D.
