Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Gerald Hopeck will be starting his third year at SCC and will be teaching both 9th and 10th grade religion. He will be teaching Christology and Paschal Mystery for the freshmen and Sacraments and Theology of the Body for the sophomores. He will be beginning his 23rd year teaching Catholic schools. He has been a religious brother for 12 years and is a secular Franciscan. He was born and raised in Bridgeport, Conn. He graduated from Fairfield College Preparatory School, the Jesuit High School of CT. He holds a Bachelor's degree in theology and history from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and holds a Master's of Arts degree from both University of Scranton and LaSalle University in Theology and Pastoral Counseling. He holds a postmaster's certificate in Spiritual Direction, Black Catholic Studies and Principal Studies. Besides being a teacher he has been a: Principal, DRE, Youth Minister, and Pastoral Associate.
