Campus Ministry

St. Charles Catholic Campus Ministry is the fire in our Catholic identity.  The goal is to administer the Sacraments through liturgies, all-school confessions, school Adoration services, and other ministry activities in order for our students to have a rich faith life and a greater understanding and appreciation for the Church.  Our big events during the school year include Opening School Retreats, Senior Day of Recollection, and Senior Overnight Retreat, as well as youth events across the Archdiocese of New Orleans.  Each year we take students to Abbey Youth Fest, World Youth Day, and Washington, D.C. for the March for Life.

Campus Ministry is led by our Religion Coordinator, Ms. Elena Gabb, and our school Chaplain, Fr. Walter Austin.  Our student leadership in Campus Ministry is our Retreat Team, compiled of Seniors who have set an example of faith both inside and outside of school.  This team also spreads the Catholic fire at St. Charles to middle school students throughout the St. John the Baptist and St. Charles parishes.

Our Catholic identity is dependent upon our Sacramental life as a school, given through the grace of Jesus Christ and his total self donation on the Cross.  Our SCC family stands firmly with Church teaching, and is submissive to the head of our Church, Jesus Christ, and his vicar, Pope Benedict XVI.

Our Campus Ministry program welcomes you to explore the events and liturgies throughout the year, highlighted here on our Campus Ministry pages.
