2016 Homecoming
SCC Homecoming Court
St. Charles Catholic High School’s homecoming court is always made up of 13 young ladies from grades 8th to 12th. The ladies are voted on by their classmates. The court is presented before the game after the motorcade and again at half-time by alumni escorts. The queen will be announced at half-time. The SCC Homecoming Dance will follow on Saturday, October 29th and is sponsored by the SCC student council. In addition, the SCC sponsors dress down and other activities throughout the homecoming week.
SCC Homecoming Alumni Cook-off
The St. Charles Catholic High School’s Alumni Association is pleased to announce its Seventh Annual Alumni Cook-off in conjunction with our Homecoming activities on October 28, 2016. After samples to be judged have been collected, an announcement will be made to start serving the public at approximately 5:45 p.m. You can purchase 4 taster bowls for $10 or one bowl for $5. A First Place chef’s paddle decorated by SCC’s art class will be awarded.
SCC Trunk-or-Treat
SCC and Rainbow Chevrolet will also co-host a trunk-or-treat before the game for all elementary and middle school students attending the Friday night game!
FCA "Run for the Son" Race
The 16th annual FCA “Run for the Son” 5K race and one-mile fun run/walk will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Charles Catholic High School. The one mile fun run /walk will begin at 8 a.m. and the 5K race will follow at approximately 8:30 a.m. Both races will begin and end on the St. Charles Catholic High campus. The race will be a part of the 2016 SCC Homecoming activities the weekend of October 28 -29. The FCA "Run for the Son" is one of the largest and most popular 5K races held in St. John Parish and the River Parishes each year. Awards and prizes will be given out after the race. Grand prizes winners will be awarded in both races for both male and female categories. Winners in age categories will be awarded in the 5K race only. Prizes are also awarded to SCC students, faculty and alumni.
Entry forms are available at St. Charles Catholic High School and can be downloaded from www.stcharlescatholic.org. Entry forms will be available at local businesses such as Smoothie King of Laplace, Curves, and Anytime Fitness. Entry fees are $15.00 for adults, $12.00 for college and high school students, $10.00 for youth (elementary school and lower). Runners and walkers can submit a $10.00 no t-shirt entry the day of the race.
All race participants will receive an official race t-shirt and tickets for concessions and will be eligible for the door prizes to be given away at the awards ceremony. All participants should arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the planned starting times for both races in order to complete registration. Proceeds from the race benefit the St. Charles Catholic Fellowship of Christian Athletes and will help finance local athletes’ expenses to national summer camps.
